Enter the Dragon – a story how I bought a 90′s BMW luxury sedan

The Dragon (sorry for the quality - but it's a photo, taken with my phone the night I bought the car)

It’s been a while since my last posting. Busy times… lot of thoughts. In the last few months my attitude to motoring changed significantly. I don’t know why… Maybe it’s that I’m getting older, maybe it’s the fuel prices (probably not, but let say it is), maybe it’s a natural course of things… I don’t know. Here’s what happened… And it will be a long story.
First thing…  I’m not so much of a hatchback freak any more. Some time ago, I recognized this segment as a “golden mean”. Hatchback is just enough spacious, but not too big for city driving and not too jumpy for highway cruising, it has a trunk big enough for 3 people’s luggage, it can give You some fun behind the wheel, but at the same time it won’t ruin your budget. It’s obvious truth.

Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari

Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari

And here comes yet another version of Fiat (Abarth) 500. It’s getting more and more difficult to choose a car these days. In this particular case (talking about Fiat 500) the emerging versions seem to have no end.

You can have regular 500 or “cabrio” version. If You like more edge – You can choose Abarth 500. Still not satisfied? You can have the Assetto or Esseesse tuning package installed, by Your local dealer, if the original raw version is not enough for You. In few months Abarth 500 will be available in “cabrio” version . Read more…

1987 BMW E30 M3

As vacation season is in progress and there is not many interesting car premieres going on in the “average Joe’s” motoring world, I decided to write few words about another classic. One of my all time favourites, icon: BMW E30 M3 definitely deserves a “tribute post”. Regardless of how good and fast the currently produced sport cars are… the choice You have among makes and versions actually doesn’t allow You to point the best one in the stake. All of them are good and “driver friendly”. Back in the ’80s it wasn’t that easy… Read more…

Nissan GT-R – tribute

Any respectful Car Blog must have a post about the Nissan GT-R. The car became a legend long before it was released. Considering that I shouldn’t write about supercars – as You can read in About section of this site, I have to make an exception. Well, maybe it’s not even an exception – as we are talking about Nissan here.

Nissan GT-R

I sure remember the classic cars and their stories. About Ferraris designed in one week. About Jaguar body model, which was damaged a little on the way to the factory, and produced full scale with the damage considered as designed on purpose. This was the car industry few decades back.

And now? Now the times are different.

Toyota Supra tribute

May 25th, 2009 2 comments

To be fair with Toyota, I need to mention the Supra model. As a Toyota anti fan, I have to admit that some time ago they actually made a good car (and not only this one)! And as blog cannot be only “against”, I decided to write few “pro” words about this great car.

What is a good car?

For me: car that represents something – has the “xfactor”. Is a niche, a good a value for money etc. Shows the capability of a producer to make a fun car, and not be overwhelmed by the accountants that will try to cancel the project.

Supra had these values. I want to focus especially on Supra Mark IV.
