Enter the Dragon – a story how I bought a 90′s BMW luxury sedan

The Dragon (sorry for the quality - but it's a photo, taken with my phone the night I bought the car)

It’s been a while since my last posting. Busy times… lot of thoughts. In the last few months my attitude to motoring changed significantly. I don’t know why… Maybe it’s that I’m getting older, maybe it’s the fuel prices (probably not, but let say it is), maybe it’s a natural course of things… I don’t know. Here’s what happened… And it will be a long story.
First thing…  I’m not so much of a hatchback freak any more. Some time ago, I recognized this segment as a “golden mean”. Hatchback is just enough spacious, but not too big for city driving and not too jumpy for highway cruising, it has a trunk big enough for 3 people’s luggage, it can give You some fun behind the wheel, but at the same time it won’t ruin your budget. It’s obvious truth.

BMW M3 GTS and BMW M3 Frozen Black Photoshoot

Here’s a little something for You. Carsoblog proudly presents…

Well… Maybe it’s not exactly what this blog is about, but I have to make an exception and post these. My dear friend quite a few days ago published his most recent work. I’ve seen some car pics, some better, some not so good and still published in recognized car magazines and posters… And the photos You’re about to see here today are absolutely amazing!

I could write more about the quality of the work TOMiRRi Photography did, but this is not a photo blog.  Just see for Yourself…

BMW Jump for joy: The anti-commercial?

October 9th, 2009 1 comment

BMW: Jump for JoyHere You will find another commercial. But somehow it feels uncomfortable to call it this way. See for Yourself what did the creative marketing team produce for BMW… It looks like they were working for someone else… What did they want to say? That BMW owner is an idiot who doesn’t know how to use door? Or that they just started producing cars that have no door (or at least usable ones)? Above all that, after the series of these unnecessary stunts, they are still brave enough to show their competition?

BMW M3 (E30) Tribute

1987 BMW E30 M3

1987 BMW E30 M3

As vacation season is in progress and there is not many interesting car premieres going on in the “average Joe’s” motoring world, I decided to write few words about another classic. One of my all time favourites, icon: BMW E30 M3 definitely deserves a “tribute post”. Regardless of how good and fast the currently produced sport cars are… the choice You have among makes and versions actually doesn’t allow You to point the best one in the stake. All of them are good and “driver friendly”. Back in the ’80s it wasn’t that easy… Read more…

10 ugliest car bottoms from the last decade

June 22nd, 2009 3 comments

Smart scientists once discovered that when we look at the cars, we use the same part of our brains as we use for peoples faces, to recognize them.

SsangYong Stavic rear

SsangYong Stavic

Probably that is why they are designed the way they are: lights on the sides – eyes… some grill or badge – nose, and bumper – mouth etc. And the same way we feel the mimic emotions and character: like Mini has wide open and cheerful eyes… And new Mitsubishi Lancer is aggressive (narrow headlights descending to the middle)…

Knowing that… why do the designers put all these funny, ugly or sad faces on the cars…

Why “bottoms” – rears?

Because that is what we see the most of the time on the streets. We stand behind the cars in traffic lights. We are forced to look at their rears … And some of them are just harmful to our feelings :)

Check out the following photos of horrid modern car designs from this decade, below…

Toyota and other logos… What is their meaning?

May 28th, 2009 No comments

Toyota LogoIn this post let’s take a look at Toyota logo. First impression: it looks good, has all the “good logo” aspects: simple, easy to draw, and nice looking. IMHO better than Hyundai or Mazda. It has more weight… But there’s more explanation from company about it’s “meaning”.

Lets start with some competition and look at their logos and their meanings…
