Toyota GT86
They did it again… The roumours about Toybaru or “Celica/Supra” return were pretty hot. Some hints were released from time to time. I was eagerly anticipating what happens in this project. They had it all figured out pretty nice. Cooperation with Subaru, oldfashioned 2.0l boxer engine, RWD, coupe looks of FT-86 concept. Promising!
And we waited… Personally I was REALLY hoping that their motoring feel will somehow turn, and they will get more interesting and make use of the technological potential they have. But no… They did it again. Read more…

Honda CR-Z Type R
Honda used to be one of my favorite brands… let’s say in 90′s, when I was a student dreaming about some tuned Civic with at least 100 bhp. Affordable and sporty – that was their thing. Revving CRX – producing 100 hp per liter of engine capacity! Recently they got a little “slow”… CR-Z didn’t get much reviews in favor of the car. I also had a chance to check what it’s worth and HERE is a little review from my side… Read more…

Citroen DS4
French motoring fans had recently many reasons to be proud of. WRC trophies of Citroen. F1 results of Renault, Peugeot winning LeMans, and their RCZ model… And now Citroen is showing new interesting direction. Just take a look at first pictures and some technical data of production version DS4 model, which official premiere was made during Paris Motor Show few weeks ago. Citroen continues the process of company image adjustment. After a success of DS3, they decided to show another of the breed.

Maybe 2013...
It’s time to get back to the topic. What’s going on with Supra? Another rumors are around the press. New launch date would be 2013. Postponed again. And again for 2 years. I don’t know if they got scared of the sport topic? By massive failure as Lexus LFA is? Toyota keeps all the fans in suspense. The first date and concept pictures of new Supra were saying: 2009. Then they made a little mess with FT-HS (aka Toybaru) model. I was hoping that Toyota will get back to serious motoring. Having both FT-HS and Supra would be amazing. Like the old days: Celica and Supra. Read more…

Honda CRZ
Some time ago I asked myself a question: What’s going on with Honda? Hoping that this weird trend Honda was presenting in recent years will somehow get reversed. Hoping that they will announce a new S2000 – faster, lighter and… better. That TypeR badge will fight back for it’s name – to lead again in the class. And instead, they release CR-Z model… (and here I should put some fancy “facepalm” jpg to express my feelings more precisely). Read more…

Focus RS500
Ford is full of surprises. After launching the RS version of Focus, which was claimed to be the best hot hatch on the market, they go further. Focus RS is still the most powerful compact car and best handling FWD car on the roads… ever, and that just wasn’t enough. They decided to make something more extreme (than 300 HP on FWD?).
A new limited version of RS500 is about to be released! For ma as a RS biggest fan, this is just “WOW!” I wonder what will the tuners do when they get their hands on this toy
What is the HP limit in this class? Just “WOW!” Read more…

VW Polo - Car of the year 2010
It’s been a while since I wrote anything… Busy time. Sorry for this silence. Some editorials will be here shortly. But for today… I just bumped into the “2010 Car of the year award” info on some website. And I’m shocked…The winner: VW Polo?
Car of the year award is considered to be “the Oscar” of auto industry. Group of 59 experts (auto journalists) from 23 countries, vote for the best car of the year. It’s that simple. But… in case of this year’s choice, if You check the particular points assigned to all of the nominated cars (here), You will see the problem.

Subaru 216A
It’s been a while without any post. It’s just that, there actually were not many interesting news to write about recently (?) World went crazy for EVs, which aren’t quite my point of interest. Reading about another huge hybrid from BMW, Mercedes or Lexus are pretty boring. Hot hatches segment seems to be old-fashioned somehow… Too cheap to be hybrids… Too expensive during the “global crisis”…
But there is a light of hope. More news on Toybaru have just arrived… and they are promising. Read more…

Toyota FT-86
Some more news on the topic have just appeared. Toyota has just released the first official photos of the FT-86 model. As You probably know by now, I’m not Toyota’s biggest fan. So I find this car as a first step to change my opinion about this automaker. As You could read on Carsoblog some time ago – this near-production coupe will be co-developed by Toyota and Subaru. Also it will be sold under these two badges separately. And what is the best news and worth waiting for – it’s planned to make its world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month. Read more…

2009 Mazda 3 MPS
Cool design, good suspension and precise handling, 5 seats, over 200 BHP under the hood, 6.1 seconds from 0-62 mph and a maximum speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). Sounds like a good hot hatch definition. Some time ago this performance would mean… Porsche, or BMW M3. Now you get that in a compact class. And Mazda just updated their player in this segment: New Mazda 3 MPS just arrived.
Previous model (dated back in 2007) was pretty controversial. It had the same 260 BHP 2.3 liter engine as the new one. But users were complaining about the handling and fuel consumption. Read more…
