Focus RS vs Megane R26 and Mitsubishi Evo
For all Focus RS fans: below You will find two recently published Focus RS testing videos. The Youtube and the Internet is crawling with reviews of the new RS from all countries. No doubt new Focus is a hot topic… I chose these two videos, as the most entertaining and informative.

- Focus RS vs Mitsubishi Evo X (Fifth Gear)
Focus RS vs Renault Megane R26 on Silverstone (thanks to Drivers Republic)
So the conclusion: “road car” almost matched “track spec” Megane. It lost a little, but try to take Megane to the Focus world – the roads, on wet or whatever… I’m a big fan of both cars, but Focus is a regular Joe’s car, that can take Your kids to school in comfort. This Megane? No way…
Focus RS vs Mitsubishi Evo X (Fifth Gear)
After watching this, I was disappointed and relieved at the same time.
Disappointed because Focus RS was claimed to be able to compete with Evo (and Impreza). But on the other hand, if it would beat the Evo… I would be disappointed about it’s legendary 4 wheel drive system, to be beaten by a FWD. It would mean, that these 2 (I don’t know why, but I can’t think about Evo without mentioning Impreza at the same time) were selling us some “average” solution
So I’m relieved that everything is still in order. Also very satisfied about the new Focus result. It’s slightly slower than Evo and powered by half number of it’s wheels
And that’s exactly is its place – to push Mitsubishi further… To breathe on it’s neck… So “McDonald’s parking lot” will become even faster and more powerful.
PS. I know that this blog is becoming more and more a “Focus RS tribute”. But for a very long time there was no such important car premiere in this class. And this “class” is the main target for this blog
Now I’m waiting for new Mazda 3 MPS premiere (that is told to have the same front suspension as Focus RS) and new 250 HP Renault Megane RS.
