New Toyota Avensis – commercial
You can find English version of a new 2009 Avensis commercial link below. Everything is cool in this version. So, so… You can always find something bad… maybe the concept. But it’s not that bad. But in Polish version is much worse!
We have there two dynamic young guys. They are sailing quite extreme, having fun (meaning: they’re dynamic, and cool
). Old playboy does something mean (2 guys got wet when sailing?? hmmm… ). After sailing is finished, they get in the new Avensis (good choice guys… really… LOL). You can see here that Toyota is trying to break the “old fart” image. Further You know what happens: they can have their revenge on playboy, but give him a break. Commercial is not bad. Motto: “Higher standard” is ok. Maybe it even fits the car – I believe that new Avensis is better then the old one. It looks better for sure.
But in Polish version it’s getting worse. Much worse. Meaning: the motto used. For a reminder it can be translated as: “Strength of character”. Here I really don’t get the idea where advertising agency chooses to use oxymoron here. It’s like Ferrari would have as a motto: “Drive safely and slowly”. Or “Fiat Panda – large family car”. Sth like that.
I just can’t understand how can You use word “Character” with any Toyota car?? Cmon…
Or maybe I just don’t understand the commercial. Maybe the trick is that these 2 guys stole the car from the playboy? It would fit. They are for sure way too young for a Toyota (=not retired yet). And if the car is not their… No… I still don’t get it.
